(Theres no special puncuation because i dont know how to do it on a computer)

Tomas: Espana

You: De donde es tomas?

partner: es de espana

(Im confused on what Es de espana means. I know de donde es tomas means where are you from but Es de?

Then for an example if you could, fill it in with

(Change roles)

Estefania : Panima

  1. it means he is = es         from = de

  2. De means "of"

Es is the conjugated form (third person, singular)  of the verb SER meaning To BE, so He is, She is, It is.

So it means "Is of...." or "Is from..."

Tomas es de Espana, Tomas is from Spain.

De donde es Tomas?  From where is Tomas?

    Sounds like Spanish 1?

Have they covered verb conjugation or are they throwing you in to conversation first?

Second Example would read similar to

    Estefania : Panima

    Partner: De donde es Estefania?

    You: Es de Panima.

It also sounds like an oral exercise, not wirtten.  Are you sure you are doing the correct page?  I did the wrong page or exercise a few times in my school years! :-S

  3. Tomas: Espana

    You: De donde es tomas?

    partner: es de espana

    Which means...

    Tomas: Spain

    You: Where is shots?

    Partner: Spain is

    es des means is

    *Hope this helped!!*
