I need some correct definition for Brain Drain.I would not prefer to go and work under the foreigners in their company and in their country itself.Would like to contribute something in someway atleast to my country.Or if I can not, atleast not go outside and make resources flow out of the country. Also, I'm sure working for an INDIAN company , and working in different countries for flourishing its business would not be termed as Brain Drain. What do you people think. You can answer taking in account all the factors, including per capita income, GDP of the country,GNP and others you know. The best is working for indian company in INDIA.and which is the worst ? Please help.

  1. i dont think so

  2. brain drain is passe...as many multinationls are setting up  thier bases in India ..and transferring thier many indian counterparts to  the hometown ... only ...

let's take e.g of Micrsoft ..as its Indian develoment centre developed the core compoenets of Office 2003 and worked over Vista.. anmd the full Hindi edition of office is developed in India only.. and Gate foundation is also doing many things in respect of India as recetly ..they donated billions of dollars..

as many indiancompanies are recuriting foreginers.. for thier managment jobs.. and other foreign professionls for other key posts..

'Brain Drain' is not about lossing people..but its about loss or movement of people due to  lack of development..

many Indian brainy started thier ventures in Silicon Valley ..nd now returning back to  India to  manage their development centres in India as they really know the potential ...

these all terminolgoy are not logcallyrelated to  brain drain ....

just see Infosys as its completed 25 yr ..just see how things really started wit them .. as Murthy used to stand next to  RBI  office.. formany hrs ..for their forex whixh used to  come thru foreign cleintelle...but now everthing changed.. ..

  3. With the changing time, changing scenario, globalization and easy flow / movement of information, men, material and money; the traditional concepts and definitions of brain drain have also changed. The words "brain drain" are almost loosing their traditional meaning and approach. Nationals, irrespective of their locations and employers can contribute for the their nation in many ways.

For the terms you have used (like per capita income, GDP etc) vis-a-vis the brain drain, take my words, you would require to re-think and re-write the concepts in economy and economics afresh!!
