  1. you said something about a tough choice. ...

can you repeat the question? i didn't see the tough choice. maybe i missed it.

let's see. hmm ... thugball (mind you where refs bet on over 100 games and get a slap on the hand), and they give a nameless trophy

    or

the one game that still has some honor and tradition and where players still play for only one team throughout their careers, and you actually appreciate a good "score", because they don't happen every 24 seconds. and the champions get their name permanently engraved on the trophy, which name is known all over the sporting world.

i'm gonna watch the Red Wings. if i want to watch streetball, shoot, why don't i just go to the local gym or playground, and play my own. it's about the same thing.

again, i don't see the "tough choice". but to each his own. even if this was game 7 of the NBA finals (which it is NOT), the choice is obvious

  2. Even if I didnt like hockey so much more than basektball, I would still have to choose the Wings game.  The Wings are in the Stanley Cup Finals, while the Pistron are just in the conference finals.  Its also been 6 years since the Wings have made it this far.  The Pistons have made it this far into the playoffs for like 4 or 5 years straight.

  3. Alicia, why are you even making this pathetic attempt to contribute to the hockey section?   I've seen your other answers and questions, and the lack of knowledge you possess is almost comical.  To answer the question, I'll put money on it that the SCF will have better ratings than the ECF in the NBA.  The Cup Finals have been hyped up so much, and it features media pet Crosby, and his dominate Pens, against the Western dominate Wings, who are rich in tradition and history.  What better two teams to have playing eachother for the cup this year?

  4. Picture in Picture bay bay!!! with the red wings on the bigger screen of course ;)

  5. It's going to be tough, but I plan on watching one game on the TV and streaming one on my computer.   That way I can have a picture-in-picture type thing going on.

    Go Wings!!!

    Go Pistons!!!

Detroit sports teams are the best!

(We'll ignore the Lions for now)

  6. Hockey is way more exciting than NBA basketball.  The only part of a basketball game than is interesting is the 4th quarter.  Also NOTHING is more exciting than the Stanley Cup Finals.

    Red Wings NO QUESTION.

  7. Is there anything else on besides the Stanley Cup Playoffs?????

  8. Am I one of few people who think that Basketball and Hockey fans are not in competition.  I mean that there isn't a large fan base that like BOTH sports.

Personally, most people I know that like basketball, dislike hockey and most people that like hockey, dislike basketball.  And even hockey fans that like basketball usually make hockey a priority no matter what.

  9. It is a great time to be a Detroit sports fan. My choice will be easy though...I have had a 40 year passion for hockey so the Wings are always a priority over most anything. I will occasionally check in on the Pistons game and will even check in on the Tigers (win or lose I have had a passion for Tiger baseball just as long). It is very cool you are a hockey fan from down under....Welcome to Hockeytown !

Go Wings!!!!  (Wings in 5...love what the Pens have done but our boys should dispatch them in game 5 so they can hoist the Cup at home).

  10. I hate basketball and care nothing about the Pistons. It's all Red Wings. That said, two of my friends' families like both hockey and basketball. One of them will be watching the Pistons and the other will be watching the Red Wings.

  11. Uh, I think you meant NBA Conference Finals game.  In this case, you go with the team playing for a Championship right now.

Alicia: Your survey of Detroit is highly inaccurate.

  12. i've been to detroit a few times and seen the people there. trust me, they'll be watching basketball.

  13. Its so annoying that they have them both at the same time. But i'm Obviously going to watch the Wings game. My dad actually wanted to bring down two t.vs to one floor and watch them both, but my mom flipped out lol.
