Basically, my teacher picked four works for our world literature paper 1. Two of the works I don't mind, but other other two I dislike. Thus I was wondering if it would it be possible for me to do my world literature paper one on books that were not chosen by my teacher, but are on the IBO book list for IB English A1 HL?

WL1 is the comparative essay in which you are restricted to choosing two of however many world lit works you have (4 in your case)
I suggest choosing your two favourite(or more likely, the two from which you can see a distinct similarity/contrasting comparisons that you could make) for world lit one because for world lit two, you have a larger choice range
WL2 is either a commentary, key passage of ONE of your WL works(that you've not depleted) OR it could also be a comparative essay between one of the world lit work and another untranslated work. So, you would only spend half of that essay talking about the WL work that you disliked, as well as having a larger range of choices in which you can make a lot of literary connections from many novels/works.
I send many condolences on your hardships and wish you the best luck
kudos to IB survivors, the highest pinnacle of education!
