For Nolan Ryan, Texas Rangers is the best ballclub in the division – MLB News
The Texas Rangers’ principal owner and CEO Nolan Ryan stated that he thinks the team is the best ballclub in the division. His comments came after he was asked to comment on the reason of having acquired too many pitchers.
“You never have enough pitching,” Ryan said. “The Angels are the team to beat in our division, but I still feel we have the best ballclub in our division.”
With Yu Darvish becoming a part of team recently, the Japanese pitcher has pulled extensive media attention, including that of the baseball fans. Ryan has a tremendous amount of expectations from this pitcher.
“My expectations for Darvish are the same as those are for Holland, Lewis, Harrison and Feliz,” Washington said. “Keep us in the ballgame, and if he does that, our guys will find a way to win.”
It is interesting to mention here that this will be the first ever Major League experience for the Japanese pitcher. But with the likes of Matt Harrison, Neftali Feliz and Derek Holland already in the side, the Rangers will be a tough club for any team to
grapple with.
However, with the depth and rotation available to the Rangers, it is the starting pitching that everyone is eagerly looking at. The club which is bestowed with the top experienced and young players in the pitching, the starters will be the real strength
of the club in defence.
“Everybody's looking for starting pitching,” Ryan said. “There's interest. He's a big, strong left-hander with a live arm. But Matt's a starter and deserving of a starting role.”
All the same, Los Angeles Angels which will obviously be the toughest rival for the Rangers in the division ought to plan everything from now onwards to stop the Rangers from a seemingly effortless march to success.
As Spring Training draws near, all eyes are set on the Texas Rangers as they have done a tremendous job of bringing together some of the best players in the League. The million dollar question, nonetheless, is: Will the Texas Rangers be able to win the World
Series for the first time this year?
