I am starting an unlisted group where members must be added (not invited). Everyone does not have a Yahoo ID. Do individual members need to open a Yahoo account and create an ID in order to can access the board postings and membership list?

  1. well, use the add feature with care for starters. if you do not have permission to add people, that is TOS abuse and you can loose that new group and your own account.

added members are e-mail only members. they will not be able to access the group at all w/o that Yahoo Account. added members post and read from their own e-mail, and that's the extent to their membership.

What’s the difference between "Invite Members" and "Add Members"?

  2. I don't know about the membership list, but one of my Yahoo Groups has a couple members who do not have Yahoo accounts. They can see the board postings.
