For RP-HPLC, why is the resin stops at C18? Is there resin with higher carbon loadings such as C30 or C50?

  1. Alkyl C30 phases are out there, but that is a novel phase with a very specialized use (separation of cis/trans carotenoid isomers).  The C30 is currently the longest monomeric chain available.
