I have a buyer for my home and need to hire a realtor to do the closing. What should I offer to pay them for their services? I don't know how much work is involved and what is a fair price to pay?

  1. use a realestate lawyer.stay away from the agent.you have already done their job.

  2. You don't need a REALTOR in this instance, you need a closing attorney. They charge <$500 give or take. There will be other costs, the atttorney's office can explain them to you.

  3. ask your bank or credit union and see if they can help or answer your question

  4. I am not an expert in real estate but why not try an escrow company instead. I believe that they do all the paperwork such as title searches and filings. In some states a real estate lawyer is used. I think a real estate agent would be the last thing I would choose. Note that Realtor is a trade mark of an organization of real estate agents and all are not members.

  5. real estate agents automatically get a fee, usually it's 6%, then closing costs which include the fee for the escrow people.  If you can I reccomend selling by owner with no realtors!!! There will be more money for both parties.
