For Sale by Owner - can we get on the MLS?

Question

Is it possible to get an MLS listing when you are for sale by owner? I'm trying to save money so I'd like to sell my home myself, but I think the marketing exposure of the MLS listing would be important to have.

Is it possible to be listed without an agent?

No, the MLS is used exclusively by Realtors.

Under the Multiple Listing Service FSBO's cannot list their homes there.  Since FSBOs don’t use a real estate professional, they have to do their own marketing to attract potential buyers.  Real estate professionals are experts in marketing who can sell a home for more money in less time.   They can also help a seller set a realistic price and make sure the proper paperwork and various disclosures and inspections are handled correctly.
