For Science Extra Credit I have to do a project that requires me to go out in nature. I need something simple.

Draw a tree or a landscape, learn the constellations, create a backyard habitat and get it certified, pick up trash, pull invasive plant species

Take pictures of all the different varieties of birds in your backyard.  Then find out if they are local birds or if they migrate.  Check online to see if there are any other species that may come around in the summer.

PA is a big state so you may have to play around with this idea. Try running a transect. Find a location where habitats chance into others. You might try going from the high tide line to beach grass to shrubs to pine barrens if you can get to NJ or DE. Or you could climb a mountain if you are farther N or W. As you cross the habitats, you record the changes in vegetation. insects, birds or something else and correlate the changes with the physical ones.
