For South Africans, who do we have a better chance against, France or England?

I think we can beat both teams, but which one would be easier? I am trying to decide who to go for on Sunday!

ummm..i think france is not a problem to the the south africans because i watched them play against the all blax and they werent that flash despite the fact that they lost against argentina. not only that but the africans are way more physically stronger than the french boys(if that makes sense). other than that i think SOUTH AFRICA is gonna tak it out this yea!!

oh i think englands a good team too but SOUTH AFRICA IS STILL GOING TAH BEAT THEM..

First you have to beat the Pumas this weekend, and you will be hard pressed to do that. The Pumas have been on form for all of the RWC. However, should you beat the Pumas I would wager you'll meet France in the final, and in that case you would definitely have the upper hand.

However, I am tipping Argentina to cause another upset and win the cup.

I think the winner will be the one who prevails in the quarter final, france and england are no where near the level of SA the only people standing in their way are the spirited argentinians.

i think u'll have a better chance against England. I don't believe France won All Blacks becoz they were better. They won them coz they really put their heart and soul into the game. England didn't impress me as much. I think it will probably be a Springboks vs French final!

But then i cld be totally off as i was predicting a Wallabies vs All Blacks clash this weekend.

And i'm also very biased as i am a Wallabies fan. :)

I'm not South African but I think South Africa is the best team in the tournament. They have looked like the best team so far and are probably the most complete team in the world (yes even more than the ABs or OZ).

Yes you can beat both teams. I think England would be easier because France are a better team and are at home.

However: South Africa doesn't have its name carved on the cup yet. They still have to beat the mighty Puma's then a passionate team (whoever it is) in the final.

L'il Pete:  While I agree that the Pumas are a good up and coming side, to suggest that S.A. beating them is a :big ask:, is a little silly.  After all South Africa have never been beaten by the Pumas and although I expect the game to be somewhat physical, the Boks should  win comfortably as long as they are not too complacent.  I am sure we have leaned about the danger's of that by the mistakes out Tri-Nation cousins made over the week-end.

I would prefer to meet the English in the final as although they  smashed the Aussies in the scrum, and their is no denying their forwards strength, they cannot match the Boks upfront.  Also we just played them recently and we all know the results of that one.

The French will be harder to beat as they have a very powerful pack as well and the encounter would be fraught with massive hits and therefore the potential for serious injury and one can never underestimate the power of a team like France playing on home soil.

I do expect a Bok/France final.  Boks will take it by 10 points.

EDIT: Bagzo is right.  The difference between the Boks and the Aussie and Kiwi's is that the Boks did not buckle under pressure in the Fiji game, despite the fact that they have several 20 year olds in the team.  That could be crucial against France and their home crowd.

SA have an open chance with both teams since they beat the boring English and they can do it again and again they showed their a class side under pressure when the crowd was behind fiji which means they can stand the pressure against the whole French nation.
