For Teens Only: How Many Teens Feel They Have Parents That Are Good Role-Models?

Do you respect your parents values? Can you talk to one or both of your parents about your problems? Do you listen to what your parents have to say? Do you have an open line of communication with them?

My parents have three of us kids, and personally, i think they are great Role Models. The only thing they lack is discipline. The reason i say that, is because in my opinion, they are far to lenient on my little sister. To answer your questions, yes i respect their values very much. I feel that if i wanted to, then i could quite easily talk to them about my problems, but for some reason, i would much rather go to my brother. Probably because we are closer in age, so chances are, he will find it easier to understand me. I will always listen to what my parents have to say. The same as i will listen to what my little brother and little sister have got to say ( Although, often i do not agree with the things my sister says ! ) Finally, yes, i do have an " open line of communication " with them.  I think that a lot of teens feel more comfortable discussing their problems with complete strangers. That way they can remain anonymous and possibly, avoid embarrassment.

My dad wouldn't listen to anything I would tell him

My mom is the best in the world, I will always listen to her - I would commit suicide If she died. Maybe I am over exagerating there, I know I shouldn't do that, and she wouldn't want me to do that. But I love her so much and I have to say... most of the time I take her for granted and don't listen to her

I highly respect both of my parents. I feel I can talk to them about most things, but when it comes to my boyfriend I keep it to myself. Otherwise I get sarcastic remarks when I'm being serious or they make a big deal about something that was meant to be taken as a joke.

I try to listen to what they have to say; but when it the same lecture I've already heard twice that day I kinda tune them out. And just because we listen (mostly) doesn't mean that we have to agree.

I would be proud to be just like my mom.
