--Australia's biggest day in cricket, the Boxing day test, is set to grow with an interstate grudge match between NSW & Qld at the GABBA.Set to start 1 hour after stumps in the MCG test match V SA, it will be a 20/20 game under lights & is expected to draw a record crowd to exceed that of previous 20/20 games, being on an Australian holiday break.

My Q is, do you think this will indeed exceed all expectations as a crowd puller, or be a failure?

  1. Yes yahoo is back up..5 hours mate, this is c**p..

Anyway to answer your question mate i cant see there being to big a crowd at the Gabba..

After all it is Boxing day,and everyone will be down here in Victoria for the Boxing Day Test Match..

Now if it was Victoria playing it may be different..lol

EDIT: Binga i'm only joking mate, any Aussie cricket is good cricket, come on gotta keep this state rivalry alive mate...Yes they will get a great crowd any where in Australia. We love our State cricket no matter which State you live in...

    Come on the Bushrangers!!!!!

  2. It's obvious that not everyone can go to the MCG match, so it will be a welcome relief to those QLD fans to have somewhere to go in the cool of the evening, after watching the test cricket on TV all day. I know I would if I had the chance.

  3. Actually I think it might work as a bit of a crowd puller but will probably descend into and almighty p1ss up. Nothing too serious just a bit of froth and bubble (literally) after the serious cricket is done for the day.

  4. failure , as usual

  5. The trouble is, ... well it would be OK .... well it would be better ... if it was in Adelaide between SA and Vic because then no players from either team would be in Melbourne playing a test.  But this will inevitably be NSW seconds vs Qld seconds because they (rightly) supply all the good players to the test team :-)

    Meeow!

  6. Sounds great Bingalee! Wayne Kerr, yu sur got dat right! lmao

  7. Geez, im gonna have to make sure 2 cartons are in the fridge. Will it be televised?

  8. I don't really think so. If it was the Bushrangers then its a different story. Even in the T20 match India v Australia at the MCG wasn't a complete sell out it was close though. I don't think anything could beat that noise. Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan couldn't even hear each other and ended up dropping Gilchrist. That was the biggest crowd I ever saw at the MCG. Maybe for the AFL, but I don't really watch that.

BTW Bingalee, where do you get all this information from?
