  1. So folks want to claim scientific superiority yet use wikipedia as a staple for their research... droll

  2. It has been snowing in mass preparations for 1000 of years,

Simply because, that was what God choose to do at the time. If the world stands, It will see even bigger snows .Put your Trust, in the Creator.  And take your kids out side and enjoy one of His great gifts ,and be happy.  If He decides to drop a couple millions tons of Snow, then let it Snow. Let it  snow let it snow. remember the song. Relax God Still in control. He is in control of all earth elements that all seasons,

  3. Why did I even bother to learn my physics at university when a mainstream media with unverified sources is just as good?

  4. So you want me to ignore the scientific experts and instead get my information about a scientific subject from a consumer advocate and U.S. talk radio host?

Yeah, I'll get right on that.

*edit* tell me who the "expert" is and maybe I'll decide it's worth listening to.  Odds are that if the "expert" thinks global warming is a scam, he's not a real expert.

  5. So a podcast by a non-scientist is going to demonstrate how the mountain of scientific journal articles I've read the last few years are wrong?  Aren't consumer reporters generally more skilled at exposing dangerous toasters?

You seem to have quite a surplus of idolization for Mr. Martino.  I think I'll pass.  One can only stomach so many meals of regurgitated misinformation before one gets sick.

Charles - if the wikipedia article about Mr. Martino is in error, please point it out.  Otherwise, wikipedia is a fine place to go for basic information about many subjects.  But if you want to understand science, go to the peer reviewed journals, not opinion pieces or anonymous forums.

  6. Hmmm, should I cherry pick a nonbeliever to listen to to propagandize myself? Sounds wise. Are you a fox news watcher too?

Lol! I made that remark about fox news before I learned that this martino is a reporter for fox broadcasting. This is like asking a carpenter how best to split an atom.

  7. Is this available everywhere or only in the US which is now so skeptical of science?

  8. woohoo (plz pick me as best answer, wink wink)

  9. I don't see anything on Tom Martino's bio that would make him an "EXPERT" on anything having to do with GW:

While he might be just fine at pointing out the pros and cons of shipping insurance, or spreading the word about the dangers of fake eyelashes (yes, those are some of his stories-use the link above to go to the home page), I would hardly call him an authority on the environment.

Is this seriously how you think that you will debunk GW?  I mean, did you actually know anything about his guy before you asked this "question"?

EDIT: Wait, wait.. are you calling his friend Chuck the "expert"?

  10. well it could be, i mean temperatures in summer seem warmer, but temperatures in winter are getting seriously colder. but either way we should switch from gasoline cars to hydrogen cars, hydrogen would be so cheap (well, theoretically, but it depends on how greedy the hydrogen companies are...)

3029 (Level 4) The weather does what the weather does. We are having record cold temperatures because the jet stream is dipping down from the arctic bringing frigid air across the entire country. It has nothing to do with global warming or global cooling. The droughts and heat waves this summer were due to a pair of stationary high pressure systems that settled over the southeast and sothwest regions of the country. Those high pressure areas pushed away all the moisture channeling it down the central plains causing heavy rains and floods. These are completely normal, if uncommon weather patterns. There is nothing about them that is outside the Earth's normal range of weather patterns. I think all this talk about human generated global warming is the ultimate in human arrogance. We like to think we control the entire world. So when things start to change in ways we do not understand, we think we must be the cause of it. We never step back and think that the Earth existed for 4 billion years without us and will keep existing long after we are gone. The climate has changed many times and will change many more times. If we want to keep living on this wonderful changing planet we'd better be able to adapt to its changes. Does the planet respond to what we do? Yes. Is it going to permanantly alter the course of the planet? No. The planet is far stronger and more resiliant than the human race. If the climate changes, as it has many times before, then we must change with it to survive. While I don't think anything we do will alter this planet's natural progression towards whatever climate change awaits it, I think most of the things that are proposed to combat the artificial boogey man of global warming will have generally benificial results if enacted responsibly. More trees, clean air, clean water, energy efficiency, reduction of dependecy on oil. As long as we don't bankrupt ourselves getting these things going, they will make life generally better, and can be made economically benificial too. The Key is to quit using scare tactics and start appealing to people's economic interests to get these policies working. And for climate change, let it come, or not. That is up to the Earth itself. Whatever will come we will adapt.

  12. I refuse to believe that someone who doesn't know the correct form of the word "there" would be an expert on climate change.  Sorry but I'll pass.
