  1. I am not a member of law enforcement but I am a civilian with a concealed weapon permit, and the officer I took both my gun safety and permit classes with was very vocal about his wish that every civilian would get a concealed weapon permit. His theory is that the best defense is a good offense, and I can't help but agree - I feel safe knowing that I can carry a firearm in the glove compartment of my car, in my purse, in my desk at work, etc. and if God forbid something bad were to happen, I would be able to keep the upper hand and protect myself.

  2. I like the idea of civilian CCW permits because it doesn't leave the streets full of victims. It gives the civilian's the chance to fight back if a law enforcement officer isn't around and their life is threatened. What I don't like is civilians trying to stop crimes when they have a CCW permit, just because they have the permit. Just an old law dog's opinion.

  3. My feeling is that it a right guaranteed by the constitution. Like free speech it should be used responsibly and protected. If a person is responsible, fine with me. Just use common sense folks. If you have one and are stopped bu a police officer, let them know right away. Do not pull it out to show it to them. Could cause you to get unnecessarily smoked.

  4. If you needed a quick $20 but Cocaine, and you saw a 5'2 100 pound lady with a purse, would you think twice about her defending herself?

If you knew she had a gun.  Would you rob her?

  5. It is best for people to to have a gun whether they have a concealed weapons permit (CWP) or not.  The police can't be there until after the fact.  Citizens need to be able to protect themselves from others that could and would hurt or kill them.  It's been a long time sense I was in law enforcement but I still carry a gun and I don't have a CWP.  I feel that I'm not going to do anything against the law so there's no problem and all the local police know I have my guns.  I'm a business owner and I've had a heart attack so I can't run away from a perp.

I guess you can say I'm for civilians with CWP.
