For Yahoo groups, as new owner or an old group, can I put a password on it? stuff seems to be deleted off.?

groups don't work on passwords, and members generally can remove their own files and such as long as those are open to members. you also can go to management- under group activity and search logs to see who and what and when something was deleted.

also under manangement- group settings- web tools, you can limit these features

You can't password protect your group, but you can restrict access to certain parts...

   1.  From the list on the left, click Management.

   2. Click Web Tools in the "Group Settings" section.

   3. Click Edit next to "Web Tools".

   4. In the Files/Photos section, select Limited, Moderators Only or Off to restrict access.

   5. Click Save Changes.

Note: Only group owners or moderators with appropriate permissions (the ability to “change group settings”) can make this change.
