I really wanna get hair extensions just to try it and to see if they really work.. plus i really want long hair.

Plus, are they worth the money?

  1. I wouldn't get hair extensions it's a little much for a 13yo girl(I'm 13 and tried it) They kept falling out even when I went to several stylists and they kept coming out!

Also school probably wouldn't allow it.

  2. Do you have a job?  Quite expensive and the upkeep if you like them is alot. If done right they can look great.  I think you are a little young.

  3. Hey, I say if you're paying for it with your hard earned money, then you can wear a purple and green reverse mohawk. Otherwise, yes: you're too young. Of course, I'm 26 and see no reason to get extensions.

    Patience, my child. Patience.

Not to mention that extensions are always fake looking to me, whether real or synthetic. Bleh!

You know, I also just thought about the fact that I had to beg my mom to CUT my hair until I was 14. She was (and is) one of those hippie types. Man... I certainly didn't need extensions. I APPARENTLY needed the Rachel.

You probably don't know what that is, huh?

Friends don't let friends get Friends haircuts.

  4. ah,  this is a hard one. because my 2 year old doesn't have much hair, and i do weave her braids. i'm gonna say no, it isn't too young, as long as its in moderation. nothing too grown looking

  5. its too much.  just be patient!

  6. I agree with Lil Nelly G. In my opinion 13 is a little too young to be getting hair extensions! Maybe 15 or 16 would be more appropriate. Of course, feel free to do whatever you like! If your parents are okay with it that is.

  7. I couple of my friends did and they instantly regretted spending the money on it. Some of the girls also looked stupid, tacky, and as if they were trying to look 18 instead of 13.

I'd say wait a year or two.

    You can work short hair.

A little straightening here, some gel there, youll be great. :)

  8. No not at all.

    Im 13 and had extensions.

Make sure to get%100 REAL HUMAN HAIR though

    synthetic hair sucks.

get about 16 inches of it.

    hope this helps.

  9. Hon, wait a couple years until you're not living off of your parent's money. Right now you're probably in middle school with a training bra, so don't rush yourself to grow up too much. Hair extensions at 12? That's ridiculous.

  10. My name is Patricia, from http://www.NYCHairSalon.com and http://www.HairExtensionSalon.com and we perform over 35 Different Hair Extensions Types, the most in the country, so I can give you the best honest answer.

I believe that hair extensions for non legal adults (under 18) is OK for kids and parents with the means to pay for them.  For example, if your parents are worth a few million, and make 6 to 7 figures a year, then it is OK.  If you got the money, spending it on your kids to make them look good is OK, especially for the trendy kids.

For the vast majority of kids, I would say no.  They are expensive for good ones $1500 on average.  You are much better off, saving that money for college.  Plus, you need regular maintaince, to make them look good, so the costs get high fast.

My recommendation then is to save your money, get into a good school, and after school, you will be making lots of money, and get all the hair extensions you want.

    Good Luck to you

    Patricia
