I've never high jumped in my life before. I've watched it like twice on t.v. but i just want to know if 5' is good for a fourteen year old boy who hasn't been coached or done track or anything like that. I just went to an all comers meet to see if i liked it. I just want to know if i did good?

  1. Not good. Sorry. High school girls that are just "ok" jump 5'... For a guy, 6' is just ok.

  2. holy c**p, that is excellent, if you can jump 6 feet you can win meets.  Get in track now and have patience.

  3. its average.

you'd make the track team at my school

the mark is 4'8 for a 14-15 yr old at my schoool and 5'2 for a 16-18 yr old for varsity.

our top jumpers are 6'4 though .

  4. how tall are you?

  5. you still have time to improve.  i think 5' is pretty good considering it was your first time, but i'm pretty sure you can at least go above 5'8 if you trained for it :)
