For a .243Win which bullet do you think is superior.?

The 100gr Federal Nosler Partion or the 95gr Winchester Ballistic Silvertips, for Mule Deer at Close to Medium range by the way.

They are both considered premium bullets, and both will get the job done just fine if you, as a hunter, do your job with shot placement. The Nosler Partition was designed for deep penetration, while still being able to expand rapidly enough inside of the animal. On the other hand, Winchester's Ballistic Silvertip is also an excellent choice. This bullet will expand very quickly, and put a lot of power on the deer, which is what it was designed to do. Though, many people complain of the Silvertips making a mess if you hit a major bone, like the shoulder blade, but I haven't experienced it. Either bullet will suit you just fine. Of the 2, the Nosler takes the cake.  There is a 3rd choice which you should consider.  It takes the best features of both and combines them into a relatively deep penetrating flat shooting hard hitting round.  The Winchester 95gr Supreme Elite XP3

I think you'll find that you'll eventually have premature expansion with the ballistic tip on very short shots. Not often, but it'll happen. The partition will be a steady performer.

The Silvertip of today is a bit changed from the original.

Ive shot a bunch in .30 cal (30 WCF and ,30/06) and never had one fall apart or fail to expand on whitail deer.

The Nolser Partition is a highly regarded design... many folks swear by it.

Neither will do its"thing" unless you do yours.
