kee....I tried to post a 1024 picture and said it was too large...then smaller ones and said they were too large too. I see others and have had them myself which fit on the page in threes...not bunches of little pictures. I can't even post a pic for them saying it's too big. So what size will they accept? thanks.

  1. It is not the length and width of the picture that is causing your problem... it is the amount of kbs that the picture is in size that is causing your problem..

they must not be over 250 kbs in size for Yahoo to post them for you..

If you are using Windows Xp.. they have a great photo resizer power toy from microsoft that is fantastic... here is the link to that site.. look for the image resizer..

and here is a link to a group here on yahoo you should join.. they can help you figure out what you need to do and maybe even do it for you!

  2. UPDATE:

The "large" refers to the file size, which has to be under 250KB. Right-click on the image file (or mouseover it) and look at the "Properties". It will tell you the file size. If the file size is above 250KB, then you will have to lower the quality of the image or resize it so that the width and/or height are smaller (as I described in my answer below).

Some images are not going to work because they are too high of a quality from the start and even reducing the quality to "1" will not help. If you are determined to use that image, you may have to sacrifice some width and/or height as well. Otherwise, you will have to find a different image to use.

aaaahhh, the joys of photo editing!

Deenie, it's not possible for you to fill your background via the 360 custom background method so that everyone will see 3 pictures, as there are lots of different screen resolutions.  The best you can do is try to fit your screen. It also depends on the content of your 360 space's Top Page, as that can affect the length of the page.

This will be a trial and error process, with no definitive answer possible from other users besides yourself. A good place to start is with the image being at least 1024 pixels wide and 700 pixels in height.

Use a photo editor (like Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Paint) . The file size must be under 250KB (for background photos). You can make the dimensions (height & width) of the image whatever you want, as long as the file size fits under those specifications.

Paint is on most Windows computers with Microsoft software in the Accessories programs section.

    - Open Paint, then open the image file from within Paint.

    - RE-SIZE: Click on the Image Menu and choose "Attributes." Adjust the pixel width and length. OR use "stretch and skew" and just reduce the percentage (to help keep a dimension from going to an extreme).

    - Go to the File menu and Save As. Choose the JPEG option in the file type dropdown after you click Save As. A pop-up window will ask about quality, you can lower it (to help the image fit under the file size specifications).

Make sure to check how other people view your page by clicking on the drop down menu "Preview as seen by" at the top right of your 360 "My Page". Choose a permission group and click the "Go" button.
