For a 99 chevy malibu ls can someone tell me why does when i go up an hill it seems to hestitate

  1. you need to check the spark plugs in it when they get some miles on them they will cause this to happen,they should be changed about every 30 thousand miles at least,but very often as long as one is running good people wont change them,check those that may be a big part of your problem with it,good luck.


  2. Check to see that your catalytic converter is not plugged, this can cause a hesitation. Also  you could have bad wires, plugs or coils have these checked. Filters, change your air and fuel filters.

  3. Not enough Torque and power to climb the hill. When climbing the hill try putting the transmission into D1, 2, or 3.

  4. That's usually fuel pressure, which can be related to a clogged fuel filter, bad ignition wires, or an exhaust issue. I would bet it's the filter or fuel pump.  

  5. tune up ,, new fuel and air filters...  bottle of fuel treatment every other month

  6. that could be over 100 things causing this, id get it to a shop and have it checked out tomorrow and get an estimate on repairing it
