Question:

For a Dream Service Project, what about adding a club at school based solely on doing service for others?

I am applying to attend the Need 2 Lead program at UNC Wilmington, and to do so you must have a "dream service project." Well I want to make it so that to graduate you must have 30 hours instead of 15 and implement a new club at school that does nothing but community service. Do you think this is too basic or what? I've tried to come up with something that combines the students at school and the community, but this is all I could think of. If you have any other ideas please tell me. Thanks in advance.

  1. Fantastic! A perfect project you could undertake is The Pencil Project.

Very easy and reaps great benefits for all involved!

    Check out the website...

  2. I think it is a great idea.

They used to have clubs in high schools like this back in the 1950's - they were called "Key Clubs".

Or maybe you could do something like a "Junior Rotary" or "Junior Lion's" or "Junior Kiwanis" club, and make a connection with a local group of adults that are doing community service projects in your area.

Kind of like JROTC, but for volunteer activities.
