For a Gateway GT4016 must all the ram memory match for all 4 slots?

gateway gt4016. currently has 2 - pc3200 512 sticks. I wanted to add 2 - pc 3200 1024 sticks too total 3 gig of ram. Can this be done in this manner.

Both pairs of ram do not need to be the same, as long as the ram within the pair matches you should be fine.  

I would get a matched "dual-channel" pair such as these
