For a beginner, what is easier to learn...a sport bike or motorcycle?

I want to buy either a motorcylce like a Harley or a sport bike such as a Kninja. I'm not sold on any name brand yet...just throwing out some of my friends bikes. What is easier to learn on or is there even a difference?

  1. sport bike is easier to ride

a naked-standard sport bike, (not a crotch rocket)

or a dual sport bike is easy to ride

I own a Yamaha FZ6 I ride with my cruiser buddies and after a long ride they are physically worn out, their arms and legs are sore from fighting the weight of the bike, they have to stop every 30 miles for a rest.

But I am cool, relaxed and fresh and can go all day without stopping riding my FZ6 because the bike is light as a feather, it steers itself, it slices thru the wind like a razor blade.

I always say to beginners a sport bike would make you look like a pro riding it cause sport bikes are easier to ride.

  2. A medium size standard  motorcycle. A sport bike is the last thing you would want. A cruiser would do also. And make sure you take a MSF

  3. I would honestly start out with a small dirtbike something not all hopped like a sport bike for a beginner. I am 22 and learned how to ride and drive bigger bikes by trial and ara on an 80 dirtbike. Don't get frisky beleive me youll regret it quick.

  4. depends on what riding position your more comfortable in my first learner bike was 600cc muscle bike then moved on to sports tourer could not get on with sport bikes my suggestion go to a few dealers or one that sells several makes and find one that suits does'nt cost anything to look or try.
