For a craft project, we need to use some river rocks, and they would look good if we could keep that wet look

How would we do that? Spray them with polyurethane? Has anyone tried this and had it work?

  1. I would look for two types of varnish.

I'd totally coat it with a matte one since wet stones are darker than dry,  then strategically paint over it in places with a shiny one, including making some thicker drops.

I think it would look more realistically "wet" that way.

  2. Some type of acrylic hardener?  Maybe a hardware store could recommend something.  Sorry I couldn't help more.  Good Luck.

  3. Polyurethane will work, but I recommend the brush-on type.  That way you can get a better coverage.  The spray would require multiple coats...and still would not work as well in the end.

  4. i have'nt tried this, but just keep on watering them every 10 min.
