  1. I think what your talking about is sub-domains.

and you can have as many as you want with most hosting services

    ie: http://www.subdomain.yourdomain.com

    I own www.GoldStarWebDesign.com

if i want... i can add sub domains.

    ie: http://www.help.goldstarwebdesign.com

    ie:http://www.Cananda.goldstarwebdesign.com

as far as more than one hosting services goes = No

each domain has a DNS (domain name server) controlled by ONE hosting service.

  2. I'd also say your question is somewhat unclear, but I'll give it a shot.  Using your DNS example, at the school where I used to work, we hosted our own primary external DNS server and our ISP hosted three additional secondary DNS servers.  As for other services like mail, web sites, etc, you could host mail at another place and various web sites at still other places.

  3. i guess you  can have unlimited name servers... normally they just give you you two.

i dont quite understand "can i be hosted at more than one place for that domain or is that not possible".
