I am a guy, and my skin is a bit...well...pale. Do you think being tan makes a huge improvement?

Also, how do you get tan? It seems like there are quite a few people more tan than me, but I don't know why. I do spend a lot of time at the computer and not much time outside. Still, I don't see other people just frolicking around outside. What can you really do outside anyway (as an adult; no playing tag)? I guess most people just get fake tans...

  1. well it depends where you live; if you live in a warmer area next to an ocean, river or lake then you can go swimming and get sun that way. other than that youre just gonna have to run around with a shirt off outside for a while, and it wont happen in one day.

    it also depends what genes you inherited; look at your parents' skin colors.

  2. Some people tan more naturally than others. I have a friend that gets tan early in the summer and stays tan nearly all winter. I have to work at it, burn a little, and then it's gone by October.

    I think a guy with a tan looks much better than a guy without.

  3. yes

  4. i like pale scrawny guys

  5. I'm a guy, and the summer time is great, especially because you can get a nice tan.  I don't go out tanning, or go to a salon, that's very unnecessary.  I get a little darker through small things, like summer reading on the porch, or going to the beach a lot, or just activities like lawn mowing.  It isn't too hard, but don't worry over such a trivial matter.

  6. well one, sitting at ur computer wont do, i get mine cause iam a really outdoorsy person but for me the chicks dig my farmers tan(yes i am a redneck)chicks dig that, but just go for a walk during the day, walk the dog, or just do some yard work

  7. Go into a tanning salon and you can get the tan as you desire it.

  8. I'm naturally really pale, but I'm also someone who tans, not burns.

    I'm in front of the computer a lot too, I'd tan because I was biking over to someone's house.

    People with full-on tans, enough to make them look different - they probably got it done at a tanning salon or they laid outside on their lawn/beach.

    I tan over the summer. >___<;

    My pale skin looks better...

    Personally, a tan that makes a big-difference always makes me think of skin cancer...
