Question:

For a halloween costume, ive designed a box structure, but i need to know of a good type of wood to make it?

out of. It needs to be light and easily workable, and needs to be available in at least a 3 by 3 foot size board at a hardware or craft store. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

  2. Thin plywood (1/4"). You can get it at all lumber yards and maybe some craft stores.

    It is available from 2ft X 2ft sheets to 4ft X 8ft sheets.

    It's more durable than cardboard and not too heavy (plus you can use it for something else after Halloween).

  3. at home depot/lowes type stores you can go to the lumber dept and look for sheets of birch paneling that come in large sheets and are relatively light.  I was first going to suggest balsa wood but that is difficult to find in large sizes.  Or, you could use heavy duty cardboard if you can find a big refrigerator box or something.
