For a jeep in Cozumel, do I reserve now (Payle$ or another reputable agency) or just get it once I'm there?

Just get it when you get of the ship.. Remember you can negotiate your best price.. Be sure to pay with a credit card that offers renatl insurance. A jeep is the BEST way to see Cozumel....

I was just there a few weeks ago, and we rented the Jeeps right on the Cruise Dock from Budget and they gave us a price of $35 due to our knowledge of the spanish language. If you can get them for $40-$45 you're in good shape. They'll offer you insurance but In my experience its not a necessity if you're paying with a credit card, most cards offer car rental insurance as a courtesy.

Wait until you get there. There will be plenty of jeeps waiting for you.

Go to the east side of the island, some call it the wild side because of the waves and rip tides. Bring your camera. Some great bars to stop at Coconuts and Mezcalitos. Stop for a swim at Chen Rio (only place it's calm and safe)

Don't drive on the island. It's small. Taxis are cheap. Federales are scary. Trust me.
