what should i include in it about why the gas prices are so high and how we can make them go down. it needs to be a formal letter to a politcal figure and it has to persuade them to make changes and include facts. any important facts or details i should include? or any political figure inparticular i should aim the letter at? or any ideas at all?

Why are you starving people through inefficient ethanol subsidies?

Why do you make more in taxes on oil than the oil companies make in profits?

Why are you spending the dollar into the dirt?

Why don't you reduce the size of government?

These problems need to be dealt with if you actually care about we the people.

what "fossil" fuels are you going to write about?  oil is renewable, wood is renewable.....gas prices are high because the gas and oil companies have a duty to make money for their shareholders.

Encourage them to drill for oil in Alaska.  Remind them why America purchased Alaska in the first place.  It is well documented that Alaska was purchased for it's natural resources (oil is certainly natural), and not so Caribou could have their own state.  Also a cursory research of the caribou population will show that drilling has thus far no negative effect on them or the environment at all.  Also ask why Cuba is Allowing China to drill for oil off their coast, only 90 miles away from American waters, but environmentalists don't want us to get any of that oil by drilling there.
