For a science project, can you please tell me how to make more than a kilogram of gold?

Haha! Actually, it is not illegal to get the ingredients to the recipe of making gold. So, can someone please tell how to do it? Many people are talented chemistry students: they know how to make anything from cocaine to rat poison. As a talented young student and prospective businessman, I would like to get the steps to making gold, or even oil. Thanks!

  1. All right. I'm gonna say it's not possible to synthesize gold, since it is a naturally occurring element found in nature, you can't make real gold. If people were to easily mix chemicals and magically conjure gold, then you wouldn't be able to sell gold at all, it'd just be another rock, like pyrite.

As for oil, all you need is minerals that are located DEEP down the earth under millions of pounds of sediment and pressure, and you need about.... give or take.... several million years.

That's why fossil fuels (oils) are nonrenewable.

    Good luck with your "Business"

  2. well...if you were a good business man you'd know that making gold from lead (or anything else for that matter) is much more expensive than digging it out of the ground; transforming one atom into another is possible, but not desireable due to high cost/time/effort or hazards...you know, "bad stablity" = radiation.

  3. Start with 2 kg of gold and remove half.

  4. Absolutely agreeing with the person above me.

  5. creat a time machine and go back to 1849

  6. ...Science has not developed a way to "make" gold  (AU).  You can, however, "find" it  (free of charge)..."If" you know where to look...  "1" Kilo. of AU...?   good luck, that's a lot of "finding"...

  7. Gold is a mineral; a single element material.  The only way to make something into gold, is to change its atomic structure.  I don't care how talented a student you are.  You are talking about an undertaking, many years beyond simple high school chemistry.
