the craic is 90 out on the islands!! but for a city-it would be Galway!!!!

Cork is a fun city (Right at the southern tip of Ireland) but personally galway (in the west) would be my favourite city in Ireland!! Dublin is in the east though!!

By "Southern Ireland", do you mean the REPUBLIC OF IRELAND?  As in 'not Northern Ireland'? (pssst...it's just called "Ireland")

If so, my vote is also GALWAY.  Cute, not to crowded, good nightlife, great scenery.

I loved Galway, and Doolin.   Lots of craic!
