how were you diagnosed and at what age? how is it like? can a brain scan show it? tell me how ur like wht treatment u get?

can having a schizophrenic father increase the risk if yes by how much bc i think i have it and i want to get diagnosed asap

  1. Asperger syndrome is relatively rare, so you may not find anyone to respond who has experienced it.

      In order to get a better response try doing a yahoo.com search using the words:  asperger syndrome support groups.

       Check out the various groups and find one for teens.

I was diagnosed at the beginning of this year at the age of 19.  My diagnosis was so late because I have a twin brother that I have always "piggy backed" off for everything and when he went to college my symptoms were very noticeable. I am glad that I have the diagnosis now because I used to feel different and people thought I was weird and awkward and now I know the reasons for everything.  Now I go to therapy in which I am taught how to act, and navigate my way through social situations.  There are differences from a autistic brain and a neurotypical (normal) brain but usually diagnosis is done by a psychologist or neurologist by other means such as observation or a test.
