  1. strain = (change in dimension / original dimension)

    stress = fotce / area

    for all materials the stress and strain relationship is  YOUNG'S modulus.

    young's modulus= stress / strain.

    YOUNGS'S modulus of a material is constant.

    so strain increases with increase in strain.
