For all of you real hockey fans, Are you surprised at all by what you see?

No, not really.  There are not too many really young hockey teams that make the Finals for the first time and actually look good in the Finals.  Even Gretzky's Oilers were swept that first experience.

   Detroit is simply a more experienced team!  The talent levels on both teams is high, but the experience factor for the Red Wings is very apparent.

   I hate Finals-Sweeps, and I think Pitt will win one game at home, but I think that what is happening is what most experienced fans, who are unattached to either team, had predicted before it even began.

I am surprised. I am a huge Red Wings fan, but I expected more out of the Pens. They played very well all season, and especially in the playoffs. Plus, during the regular season they were something like 8-1-1 against Western Conference teams, so they even had that going for them. Their powerplay is doing ok, but that is all you can say about them. If they don't figure out how to compete at even strength, they will get swept.

I watched all but two of the playoff games, all teams. I am a die hard Red Wings fan, But I have to admit that I have seen the pens play far better hockey than they have shown in these two games. Even at that, I dont predict a sweep, I think the pens will find their feet at home and give us a run for our money.
