I am going to be getting my wedding dress made for me, and I just was wondering what price, including labor YOU would charge for this dress: http://www.houseofbrides.com/product.php?productid=26702&cat=1228&page=4 Thank you!

  1. compare the price with a ready made one.J.C.Penny's has some beautiful dressed for 100.00

  2. $1,000 for the labour alone. The fabric price would differ depending on what quality of silk you wanted, where you live (fabric prices differ sharply from area to area), etc.

A large manufacturer has the equipment to machine-bead that bodice. A seamstress would have to hand-bead; the time needed for this would be most of the expense.

  3. That is going to be an expensive dress to make. You might be better off buying it. Honestly after you buy the fabric, thread, notions etc ($3-400 if you hit a good sale) Its going to cost you another $5-700 to have it made. So we are talking $1200.00 total at the minimum. Factor in your shoes, vail, under garments, jewelry, hair and make up and you could be in the hole quite a bit. I am sure you could find this dress at a bridal boutique for around $500- $700 total. It is a Beautiful dress BTW! And congratulations!
