How do you explain the feeling of a hand touching my shoulder? I felt it clear as day. My shirt didn't get stuck on anything. It wasn't a muscle spasm (i get those i know the difference). I was wide awake and I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I felt a sense of comfort and warmth. Please tell me how you explain this...

  1. I've felt that too.  It seems reasonable to attribute that to muscle spasms. To me, it felt like a finger tap, and I thought my wife was behind me tapping my shoulder. I turned around and I was all alone. So I waited and it happened again, but that time I was aware of it and I could determine it was a muscle spasm after all.

You probably felt a sense of comfort and warmth because that's usually how one feels when comforted by a hand on the shoulder, and that's what you thought it was.

Could it have been a ghost?  Yeah, perhaps, though ghosts would not seem to have physical hands so it's not clear how one would be able to touch you. But there are likely and natural explanations to be had, so extraordinary supernatural explanations aren't necessary.

  2. ...and you are asking  skeptics?? Surely a skeptic will tell you you are imagining it..as I will. Why ask skeptics?

What an odd question to ask a SKEPTIC

  3. well, it would seem to me that something or someone was near you, reaching out to you from possibly another dimension or perhaps a spirit of this dimension is near you and letting you know their presence in a way that is slightly less frightening than appearing as an apparition.  It is said by some that we all have a guardian spirit or angel.......and since the feeling conveyed was warmth and comfort it is safe to say it wasn't one of the demons, ghouls or other nefarious spirits that spread discord.......

  4. I can't explain that because I don't know the exact circumstances.  It could have something to do with blood flow.  It could be a muscle seizing up.  It could be completely imagined.  It could be an event where a multitude of small effects added up to produce a larger sensation.  I don't know.

As one who chooses to think skeptically all I can tell you is that just because the cause isn't immediately apparent doesn't mean a ghost or guardian angel did it.

  5. just a guess but your guardian angel or someone very close to you thats has passed away as the comfort and warmth might be a sign of security and the person watching you wants you to know it. or it might have been just a person who tripped lol

  6. Interesting this happened to you, i was just telling another person how this happened to me. I was asleep when as clear as day i felt a hand on my shoulder shake me awake. It was pitch black and completely quiet. No one was near me or awake in my house to it was very strange that i felt the warmth, shape, and pressure of a hand on my shoulder.

I cant explain it, and i dont think you can.

  7. A passing bird !!!

  8. This happened to me too.  My parents in the past few years moved and now live on a mountain in TN.  My first night visiting there new place, I slept in this large game room they have upstairs, they had a guest bed in it at the time.  I felt something touch my shoulder early that morning, but thought nothing of it because I thought it was my dad before he left for work, their room is right of the game room.  As soon as I felt that touch the room got bright and I turned over and saw the computer monitor had come on, so I was sure my dad had been in there.  I rolled over and went to sleep.  That morning I asked my mom if it was her or dad that came in to see me.  She said neither, we asked my dad later and he said he had not been in.  Only then did I become scared of what had happened.  I slept downstairs in the den from then on.  My sister recently was in that room alone and claims she saw a clear figure moving around, she ran out of the room in her car and drove down the mountain and called me in a panic.  The room was recently renovated, I just know something is there.

  9. Your Guardian Angel reassuring you that you aren't alone.

  10. Yeah, I don't see the purpose of your question

you already decide what it is, so, why bother asking for something that you will only give a thumbs down and laugh it off?

Good for you, I hope that hand touches you more often if it comforts you each time it does.

  11. Dont listen to these people. Ive had an experience like that too. I felt the full hand. Spaces between the five fingers and all. And muscle spasms dont have five fingers. And dont tell me I felt five muscle spams spaced out like fingers. They have not experienced it so they dont beilieve. They fear the unknown so the brush it off as you being psychotic or delusional because they have no answers to explain it. But there are many things in this world that have no explanation so open up your minds people and step outside the box.

  12. why are you asking? You have already decided its a ghost, and have closed your mind to the most obvious answers.

The sense of comfort and warmth makes no sense, arent ghosts supposed to give you a chill up your spine and make you cold and uncomfortable?

If you were not alone, then someone probably pushed you, if you were alone, it was probably a muscle spasm.

  13. Wife does that to me all the time.

  14. Paranormal experience?
