I have been looking into purchasing a tv... Why is this so cheap? If you could list the pros and cons I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!

  1. It is probably an older model.  1000:1 contrast ratio is not very good.  Go look at  the set in the store if you can.  If you like the way it looks, get it.  Vizio is an ok low-priced brand.

  2. First of It's a VIZIO, that's why it's so cheap. components made in JAPAN, assembled in MEXICO. Whats the old saying you get what you pay for, certainly not top of the line. would be something good for a kids room. it is a good thing  that it is an LCD MODEL, if you play XBOX360 OR PS3. Not a good thing to play video games on a PLASMA got to watch for the burn in. Cheap or expensive almost all the TVS now a days are rated for 15 -25,000 hrs of use. you watch that much TV? and just think If you call that cheap , which it is if it goes out inna few yrs or better yet right after your extended warranty plan expires you can get another one. GOOD LUCK

  3. contrast 1000:1, thats HORRIBLE! I wouldnt get it, there are tvs today which have contrast 500,000:1 and cost about 2000-3000 bucks

  4. anything over 32" should have a high contrast ratio at least 5000 the bigger the set the higher the ratio should be for clearer sharper picture most places that sell TVs with a poor ratio will show cartoons or nature wildlife programs as these always look good try watching football on them and you get shadowing like ghosting behind players blurring poor quality for a 42" you should be looking for 10,000 and above also a high resolution 1080 is good hope Ive been of some help you only really get what you pay for but that doesn't mean you cant use a wee bit o savvy don't just buy the first one you see shop around you have the world at your finger tips

  5. Maybe I'm old-school..but $999 for a TV ISN'T cheap!

  6. Good price off the bat I'd say thenumber of HDMI inputs and some other goodies.

  7. id say jump on that deal, also print the page so that if you bring it into the store, you have proof and theyll have to match the price due to advertising

btw its the same at circut city
