PMS, periods , pregnancy, and many more medical issue you women have to overcome. BUUUTT women on average live longer than men so.......shouldn't men be treated not necessarily better but with more respect than they are and women need to be downgraded off there pedestals( that means getting over chivalry) and demand to be treated with respect and that's it ? So everybody is treated EQUAL. Men die earlier than women so in opinion not that women medical problems aren't a burden but dieing early takes the cake. Women cant compete with that. What do y'all think ?

  1. Health care is health care.  You either got a good doctor or a bad doctor.  Who says women get any type of special treatment?  We might get more treatment cause we have more medical things going on, but other than that, I don't get what you talking about.

  2. Dude, you do realize that the only reason women live longer is to make up for the amount of time we stand in lines for the goddamn public restroom?

Besides, what you're saying makes no sense at all.  Just because men die sooner they should be treated better than women?  Not to mention the fact that you only die once, whereas PMS, periods, and other exclusively female problems manifest themselves many times throughout life.  What about things like osteoporosis?  Men don't get that.

Edit: Hey KKingS, believe it or not, I actually bled for three years straight!  Granted I didn't die, but I got very sick.  I was white as a sheet and lost a ton of weight.  THEN, at the tender age of 13, I had to have a pelvic exam to determine what was wrong with me...it was the worst pain and physical trauma I have ever experienced in my life.

Edit: Kris, you do realize that in only the past few years did doctors and medical researchers acknowledge the fact that women display different heart attack symptoms than men?  My teacher (a nurse) said that a few years ago while she was on duty in the ER, a woman came in complaining of chest pain and stomach pain and believed she was having a heart attack.  The doctors dismissed her chest pain as being related to something gastrointestinal.  The lady was dead within minutes.

And regarding your comment about fathers, husbands, and sons dying of prostate cancer and the likes, the discrepancy in men's health care is linked to the fact that far too many men don't go for yearly checkups, and don't go to the doctor if they think something is wrong.  Therefore, if men are refusing to go to the doctor in the first place, why put as much money into funding research for men's health as they put into funding women's health?

  3. Ummm... PMS, periods and pregnancy are not exactly illnesses and with modern medical techniques pregnancy is not life-threatening most of the time.

What does "dying early" have to do with getting more respect or being treated better? I think men would find the resources for them to live longer are there if more of them would just go to the doctor.

And what does all of this have to do with chivalry?! I'd understand if chivalry was (in the modern age) some universal code that all men had to follow in addition to affording women equal rights. But these days, chivalry just seems to be men making the choice to treat an individual woman he is attracted to and/or with better than he does other women out of his esteem and affection.

Some men are just so hung-up about whether chivalry makes things unequal that it's apparent they have never met a woman they care for enough so that treating her well seems like a pleasure rather than a burden. Sad, really.

And don't worry. Doctors are working on a cure for incoherence as we speak. Hang in there.

  4. Men are treated not necessarily better but with more respect than women, who are on their pedestals because we men put them there.  There is no law requiring that you practice chivalry, but we all can demand to be treated with respect.

Yes we also die earlier.  Some of it because of our own accord. Criminal acts, drugs, war. But would you want to see women, that means your mother, sister, wife, girlfriend, OR DAUGHTER,  die early?  Some of us take this equality thing too far and nitpick issues of little to no importance.

  5. women and men are not equal.equal means exactly the same.but women and men are not exactly the same.Women go through child birth,PMS.men do not.so It would be stupid to say that they are equal. But should they be treated fairly?yes.anyway to answer your question. You want people to treat you better, because you don't live as long.hah not gonna happen buddy sorry.

  6. LMAO.

Okay...you try having severe abdominal cramping for about 2 weeks out of every month for about 40 years of your life.  Try bleeding for 5 days and not dying (thanks, Mr. Garrison.)  Try pushing something out that weighs about 10% of your weight....and don't forget, the place it's coming out of is a h**l of a lot smaller than the object is.  Try having a contraption that looks like a curling iron shoved inside of you, opened, and then have someone scrape cells from your inner organs.  Try getting diagnosed with cervical cancer at the age of 18 and undergoing a biopsy that restricts your activities for a half a year.  If I could trade all of that in for an early death....bring on the funeral!

Yeah...you go try all of that.  Then come back and ask this question.  You men have it so rough *rolling eyes*  Let's see how much respect you get when you let a door slam shut in a woman's face.  Good luck in your future relationships if that is your view...

*July - Eeek!  I believe it, but that does sound painful...and scary!  Glad you came out of that alright!

  7. You don't seem to have found many women who are clinging to their pedestals who think they should be treated better than men medically. Maybe you need to look for a non-feminist area of the forum to find anti-fems or non-fems who think like you assume women do..or maybe you're just making assumptions and generalizations about women?

  8. I absolutely agree with you on all of this.  It's just like people saying blacks get treated worse than whites, then a white kid doesn't get accepted into college because a black kid with a worse score applied there, too.

Men, woman, blacks and whites should all be treated equally.

  9. That has always been the case.  But, are you saying that women don't deserve your respect?  What about your mother or your sisters, don't they deserve respect.  Yes, women live longer, but that is because women take better care of themselves.  When men notice changes in their bodies, they refuse to go to the doctor until it is too late. Have you forgotten that the reason you are here is because your mother bore you and cared for you?  Why are you complaining?  You are not chivalrous and you are no gentleman. The number one killer of young men is murder and accidents.  Getting over that warfare and machismo, would help with longer life.  Also, getting out of the war would help with man's lifespan also.

  10. um, I don't think that I'm downgraded.  And I don't treat men disrespectfully, so I think you are speaking only for the women who do.  I as a lady who respects men, always call them by sir, or Mr.  But as for common courtesy, I like it when a man holds a door for me, and treats me with respect also.  But, I would NEVER demand it.

I think we should all treat each other with respect.  I'll reverence you, you pamper me.

No need to get your panties in a bunch.  I think that's what the men today are wearing anyways.  I think they've gotten a little softer.  I don't know about you, but I like the old fashion men that we don't see anymore.  The ones with caloused work hands, the suit and tie on sunday and the ones who are respectful to women.  I don't want a man who expects me to put extra fabric softener in with the wash, just so he's more comfortable.  I like em rough around the edges, but still respectul to ladies.

  11. because idiots think that pms, periods, and female cramps are deadlier than prostrate cancer, heart attacks and other stuff that kills men.

I think we should let women deal with their own pathetic illnesses and concentrate on men health for a change.

  12. Well the fact that the government spends 50% more on womens medical needs and research because of feminist's.

I know some are saying "there he goes again blaming feminist's.."

Well let's see.. what is the part of government that has the most of the tax and spend powers?

hmm would it be the House of Representatives?

And who is Speaker of the House?

    Nancy Pelosi?

    And isn't she a "feminist"?

I thought feminist's where all about "equality"?

But under her control she actually pushed to INCREASE spending in females health needs while at the same time pushed to DECREASE spending in males health needs.

WOW. A perfect example of feminism in action. Maybe we should of put them in power decades ago!

Ohh right.. us guys like our right to live. Even if our rights are seriously eroded we still have a few left.

I suppose the hateful sexist's would be hard pressed to give up some perks even if mens health and mens health research is grossly underfunded..

But when there fathers, husbands and son's die of prostate cancer, heart attack, stroke those perks will be a fine comfort

  13. Most women don't think that 'women should be treated better because of medical problems.' We just want equality and respect for our ways of thinking and our experiences as females.  Our ways of working and thinking deserve as much respect as mens' ways.

Men die earlier on the average due to work related injuries and work caused diseases.

Women don't put ourselves on pedestals. We want to be looked at as HUMANS not s*x objects all the time.
