What does the name Jarjeet mean? Also spelled Jagjit.

    jiit = short for 'conqueror'

    ਜਗੁ "jag" means "world" or "ocean".

    ਜੀਤੁ "jit" means "victory," "win," "conquer", "triumph".

    Put together, Jagjit or Jagjeet is "conquer the world".  The phrase is known from a saying in Punjabi (from a Pauri in Japji Sahib), ਮਨਿ ਜੀਤੈ ਜਗੁ ਜੀਤੁ (man jīṯai jag jīṯ), meaning "conquer your mind to conquer the world".
