Question:

For anyone who has been on a Carnival Cruise???

I just had some questions regarding the cruise...we're sailing on Dec. 15 to Western Carribean on a Carnival cruise. I want to use the gym/attend Pilates classes while on board. Do I need to bring my own mat? or should they already provide customer's with them? and does the exercise area cost any additional money? I know the spa costs extra...but does the gym and pilates? Also, I understand that I only have to be 18 to gamble on board right? that would make my trip even more interesting.

Thats all the questions I can really think of right now...thanks for any help!

And if you want to add additional tips that you think I might want/need to know please feel free to do so!

  1. Im not sure about the mat but most of the classes are free. It will tell you in the Carnival Caper if there is a nominal charge for the class, usually $10. The gym equipment is free to use and they also have a sauna that you can use. They have a mens side and a womens so dont think you cna hnag with your significant other, unless its the same s*x or youre on a girl weekend

  2. You can get these and lots of other questions answered at CruiseCritic.com.  Click on "Boards" at the top of the page, then browse away - you might be particularly interested in the "Carnival" board, the "Ports of Call" boards, and the "Roll Call" board [find other people going on your cruise].

  3. Good news and bad news I'm afraid.....

The bad news is that to gamble you have to be 21....but hey - think of the money you'll save!

On the plus side you don't pay extra for the excercise area and all the equipment you need is there - including mats.

Have a good time, I've done this cruise and it's good. The Eastern Carribean one is even better - try that one next time.

  4. Access to the gym was free but the classes were for a fee.  You will get a daily newsletter called the Carnival Capers with the times of all of the classes.

They usually have all of the equiment you need but consider this...you don't know how well the mats are cleaned between uses and with all of the staph infections going around, why take a chance?

Age for casino is 18.  We took my niece on a cruise in 2006 and she had just turned 18.  She won $700 the first time my Dad taught her how to play the Wheel of Fortune slots.  Slots pay out better the first nights to encourage people to keep coming back.

Spa services range from $50-200 per service.   The gym gets busy later in the morning, so early morning is best for access.

    Have a good time.
