can you give me an example from the book of the following theme..

patterns and effects of interactions among major societies and regions: trade, war, diplomacy, and international organizations

-in other words, what happens when people come in contact with eachother?

  1. It is a very good book. Salt was huge in trading. People, merchants, used salt to cure meats (Pork and Cod) to last longer which allowed them to go farther on trade routes than usual. Also since salt was so important to trading, it was used as currency in some regions of southern europe, it caused a number of wars. When anything is that important of an item it is worth fighting over. Whoever controls the salt, controls trade routes, and in turn make the money to establish even more control over the industry. I know this was a short summary, I apoligize.
