  1. he seems to want to but my guess is, he'll play to the side that suits him best.

  2. First of all I am sure that he thought this through and knows the potential backlash if the dems win the pres and gain a stronger majority in Nov. I'm sure the dems will threaten to make life miserable for his constituency when his term is up, should they decide to vote for him. I don't think the Republicans will accept him if McCain loses.

I honestly believe that he is really putting country first as he stated. No one forced him to put his head on the chopping block. He could have gone along to get along. More power to him. I'm not sure that I would have the ba*** to do it.

  3. Neh he will retire soon, and if McCain wins I am sure a cabinet position is waiting for him.

  4. Most likely, but he will no longer be needed as far as contributing to a Democratic majority. His popularity in his own state has sunk to about equal George Bush, 30%.If he were up for election in a state that is over whelming for Obama, he would loose.

That is due to the fact he pledged he would support the democratic candidate for President. he even enlisted the  Clinton's to help by  campaigning for him on his behalf.

If your point is that he will no longer be relevant after the November election, then I believe you are correct.
