Is 4 miles within 40 minutes a good time? =) Thanks.

And approximately how many calories did I burn?

  1. If this is a "good" time depends on many circumstances, for example your age, s*x, exercise back ground, the terrain you are running in, weight and more. If you run in a track or other flat terrain, are between 15 and 50 years, are not overweight, you should be able to run this distance at this pace whitout too much effort. Then you will have a good basis for further training and progress. If you struggle hard to keep this pace, then I suggest you walk instead, or for example run 1 minute and walk one minute etc.
