For black girls: what exactly is deep conditioning?

I'm trying to grow my hair back (it used to be long but then i cut it and now i wanna grow it back) and I keep hearing references to deep conditioning. What exactly is it? Do you mean treatment like when you put special treatment conditioner in your hair and let in stay in for say 30 minutes and then wash it out? Or do you mean something else?

its just a stronger conditioner (that you can either buy and use at home or go to a salon and get it done)

its just like regular conditioner, accept you'll want to leave it in for 10 or so minutes then rinse it out. it leaves my hair feeling great

(p.s. if the black thing matters to you my dads black lol)

a protein conditioner that is very rich. you lather your hair and let it sit for atleast five minutes. good things to add are tea tree oil. also try to take a B Complex Vitamin <-- this made my hair grow like a miracle. its because of the biotin and folic acid so just check the back to make sure it's there.

Just go to your local beauty supply store or a place like Walgreens and you should see containers of deep conditioners (clearly labeled as such) for different brands. Read the instructions and how it claims to help your hair and decide which one you want to buy.
