  1. they make progesterone only pills that you can take while breast feeding.  it is not as effective for all women as the regular pills.  i would recommend using a back up form of protection if you are really concerned and want to be sure to prevent pregnancy.

  2. All we did was the pull out method because I did not want to take any chances with the hormones in the pill. Four years later, and still using same method, no I never got pregnant again. I breast fed for a year. It went well, if you need any advice on breast feeding, feel free to contact me. Best of luck.

Just a little FYI: breastfeeding helps your child with 5 IQ points, my daugther is very bright, so I believe it!

  3. The diaphram, spermacide and a condom.  No chemicals and a chance for your body to work through all the hormone changes from pregnancy and childbirth.  If you are taking care of your baby, going to school and keeping house for you and you hubs you will be lucky if you can stay awake long enough to roll over into the bed at the end of the day.  Another thing no one tells you.  Breast fed babies know when you are horny and about to do the deed.  They cry at the worst moment.

Just use good sense and a little planning of your love life and you should be fine.  After 6 months going back on the pill should be fine because chances are baby will be eating some solids by then but breast milk is still the best food for him until he is a year old.

  4. You can go on the pill and the hospital will perscribe it after you leave the hospital.
