Hi, I am getting married in 8 days and was wondering how do I get rid of that tired/puffy eyes look quickly? I have of course seen people use cucumbers but does it really work? Thanks in advance!

  1. I've tried them and they doesn't do anything for me. I don't know anyone else who has had good luck with them either. You should ask at a makeup counter at the mall and see what they suggest. Getting sufficient sleep also helps.

  2. Preparation H works miracles in a hurry.

Tea bags soaked in cold water work really well too.

    Congrats. !!

  3. dont use anything, just get some sleep for a few days.....

  4. the only thing that has ever worked for me is to dab abound my eyes with cold water before going to sleep, and when I wake up. Congrats on your wedding. Its such an exciting time.

  5. Honestly, this may sound weird, but I have heard Preparation H. Yes, you read right. It helps the inflammation. Good luck.

Edit: Ask in the beauty section. I bet someone will know exactly when and how long...

  6. Olay makes an AWESOME line of night eye cream. Use it everyday between now and then and you should be good. I used to have huge circles, I used it for about 1 week, and they went away. Now I just use it every 4 days or so. Good luck and congratulations!!

  7. As weird as it sounds, the person above me is right, models use haemorrhoid cream for their puffy eyes!

Haemmarroid creams work by constricting the blood vessels around the a**s which stops the amount of blood and fluid flow to the area, which reduces the size of the haemorrhoid.

Many people now use this (especially models) under their eyes, as it constricts all the little blood vessels under the eyes and reduces blood and fluid flow to the area, and therefore the swelling and puffy eyes dissapear.

Obviously you should take care not to get it in your eyes.

Weird but true! It is not for long term use, but for emergency use (such as a wedding in a week!)

EDIT: With your wedding in a week, I would probably start to use it at night. All you need to do is apply a thin layer under the eyes at night and wash off in the morning. Obviously be careful not to get it in your eyes, and wash your hands after. I have heard of some people mixing a little bit in with concealer for the big day itself!

The ingredients of haemarroid cream are not specifically for that area. The main ingredient is Phenylephrine HCl , which is the ingredient that constricts blood vessels. When used in haemarrhoid cream, its good for haemorrhoids. When used in cough and flu preperations, it is good for stopping a runny nose (as it constricts the blood vessels there). basically what I am trying to say is even though it is marketted as anal ointment, it is only the packaging, and the ingredient is actually used in many other pharmaceutical products. Preperation H is the best one to apply to the eye though, because it is in ointment form (i.e. a nasal spray with the same ingredient wouldnt really work in your situation!). So don't be put off by your association with it as a anal ointment, because in actual fact, the main ingredient is used in so many other things. Its just the packaging and marketting that promotes it for being used "down there"

  8. The only thing that makes my eyes less puffy is applying a cold compress.  Get one of those plastic, gel eye masks at the drugstore and put it in the fridge overnight. In the morning, put it on your eyes until the puffiness goes down. Cucumbers never worked for me. I've tried cold green tea bags, too, but the eye mask works the best.

This is the sort of thing I'm talking about. You can get them at WalMart:

  9. Cucumbers do work and are good for your skin.  Also Garnier makes a roll on puffy eye treatment.  Although I haven't tried it, I use a lot of Garnier products and I love them all.

Another trick that a lot of models use is to dab a small amount of hemorrhoid cream, it eliminates the puffy look.  For the dark circles just use a concealer and good foundations.  I swear by Bare Minerals it covers everything!!
