but it should be like 1 ft by 1 ft or some sort of size like that or circle just NOT handheld. Also, this needs to be battery run, not a wall plug-in. Any suggestions as to where to find one?? thanks so much

  1. Wal-Mart has them. Any outdoors store should have them as well. I have several. They run on D batteries. Be sure to take plenty of batteries with you because they do eat them up rather quickly.

  2. I also got mine at walmart in the camping section- doesn't blow hard though and like said above eats those D batteries up in not even two nights! Maybe you could find a better one online.

The link listed below has one that runs on batteries for 100 hours! thats better than 20 hours and its only 15.00.

  3. I bet a fan that big would really eat batteries. You're probably better off with several small ones and put them to blow right on you. I have a fan that I've had for years, use it in the van when I have to leave the dog in it. It's the Caframo Mini-Max. It's not big but pushes a surprisingly large amount of air for its size, it's quiet, and has speed controls. Takes 4 D batteries, says it will run for 300 hours on those, and while I've never timed it, I usually only have to put new batteries in once a year if then. Caframo is a really good company, check their website. I've had other fans of theirs and they've lasted very well. I've got one that's over 30 years old and still working well. They might have the bigger battery fans too. When you're looking, try to find the specs(CFMs) on the amount of air the fan will push, that will tell you how powerful it really is. Many manufacturers don't seem to want to tell you that.

  4. Wal-Mart has those and they use like 6 D cell batteries.  So take extras.
