  1. 1. It has been James 2:17 lately, because I have been bashing people over the head about denying the power of works in the Christian life.

    2. The separation of church and state is in the Constitution, in Amendment 1, which someone already quoted for you above. This was meant to make religion free, not make America free of religion, but I'm afraid that is how it's being used these days.

  2. i totally i gree with you, i keep praying for them. i have a good new to all christian in r&s i recently make a friend of my friend who is atheist become christian. i'm so glad for dad. and remember that when you get to heaven you wont suffer so you will not remember about those who will stay in earth. god bless

  3. Song of songs 1:2, most beautiful and deep book in the Bible outside of Revelation. And on point two very good you have done your homework on this. It's true the founder's understood the separation of church and state as the separation of denomination and state. As you recall the Roman church in the past exuded a great control over Europe and it's kings. The founders didn't want the same to happen in America. Here is the document you were referring to.

  4. I like the 23rd Psalm.  Oddly enough, the most powerful reading of it that I ever heard was on an episode of Xena, of all bizarre things.  I remember being awestruck, hearing the actor read it.  zIt gave me a deep, intense appreciation of what the psalm meant, for the first time in my life.

And I'm afraid the Constitution _does_ explicitly state that there should be separation of church and state.  It's in the First Amendment.  The Founding Fathers specifically did not want the United States to have a state religion, as Anglicanism had become in England.

  5. the lord shall walk and keep you in his thought....

    i think that's it...something like it.

well i know something because I'm Lutheran.and martin luther was unhappy with the Catholic church so he posted the 96 theses on the door of his church.and from there some more stuff happened with  a storm and then came another form of protestant?i don't remember much but that's what i remember.

  6. Thomas Jefferson was writing a letter telling the Congress that they had no power to write laws limiting the free exercise of religion. The Supreme Court twisted the letter to accomplish the exact opposite of what Thomas Jefferson wrote.

  7. 1. Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I like this one because I have no idea what my future holds and it sometimes seems very chaotic. I like to be reminded that God knows and it's a good one!

    2. People will use anything they can to suppress the word of God. You're right, just keep up the prayers.

P.S. We look strangely alike...   :)

  8. I like Paul's explanation of Love in first Corinthians 13 I think it is. The separation of Church and state was to make sure that not one particular Christian group (like baptists, Protestants, catholics, etc..) were to have control in the Government like some other Countries did. They were for the most part Godly ...ish or real Christians but did not want one group to rule another. They didn't mean they wanted the Government to be seperated from  God's laws... just not dominated by one group of Christians.

I'm sure this country will run it's course and fall apart after God is completely taken out of the Governments choices. In the end God is the only one who could successfully govern anyone anyway and he will when he comes back just before we completely destroy ourselves.

  9. aaahh i love rev21;24 that is totally my verse it helps me through everything just knowing that he is here for me u know i have gone through alot as a christain but that verse helped me through it all thanks for reminding me of it i feel happy now

  10. (Isa 20:3) Then the LORD said, "Just as my servant Isaiah has walked *naked and barefoot* for three years as a sign and a portent against Egypt and Ethiopia...

    (Gen 19:31-35)

31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:

32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

  11. Separation of church and state IS in the Constitution, in two places: last phrase of Article VI, and Amendment I.

  12. " I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life; no man can come to the Father except through me". -- Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6)

  13. There are so many great verses in the Bible, but one that I adore is this:

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14

What a beautiful picture of Jesus.

As for your question about separation of church, I am not from the US so can't really make any comments about the history of your country.

I do however think Christianity should be taught in schools.

You have a great outlook on your faith.  It is wonderful to see, especially in young people.  It is indeed so sad that many will not spend eternity with God but rather suffer eternal punishment in h**l.  It is what all of us deserve.  Praise God though for sending Jesus to pay the price for the sins of His people.  God's promises are sure.  We can depend on them!  I will join with you in praying for them.  May God use your words to penetrate the heart of stone of unbelievers.

    God bless you.

  14. Eph 6:11; Put on the full armor of God that you may stand against the tricks of the Devil.

Edit: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

If we understand this clause with it's implications, it states that congress cannot say ANYTHING about religion. No laws supporting creationism in schools, and no laws saying that creationism can't be taught. It can say nothing about religion. The separation is that Congress can't do anything about religion, not that people in religious circles can't affect congress.

  15. Ephesians 2:8.

It shows that a person can't earn his/her way to Heaven. It shows that Heaven is a free gift given to us by the merit, love, worthiness of Jesus Christ.

  16. I have many favorites, here's a few:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

*For the wonderful promise of eternal life!

Philippians 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

*For the wonderful promise of strength!

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

*Because no matter what happens good will come out of it!

John 17: 9  I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

*Because Jesus Himself prayed for me and all other Christians!

  17. actually... the Bill of Rights is part of the Constitution and it prevents Congress from passings laws supporting ANY religion... not only that ..It was also the very first amendment....contrary to popular belief.. not all of our forefathers were christians.....

  18. I can answer the second question... the constitution clearly states in the FIRST amendment that:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

  19. hey i am not a Christian and iam answering something. SOMETHING

  20. Lately it has been 2 Chronicles 7:14.  <')))><

  21. Hon, separation of church and state IS in the Constitution.  I've actually READ the document.  Prayer does NOT belong in public schools, no matter what you think.  Let's make an agreement - You promise not to pray in my school and I'll promise not to THINK in your church.

  22. One of my favorites is Psalm 37:29.

This verse lets us know that it was in God's original purpose to have people live forever on a paradise earth.

  23. One of my favorite verses in the Bible is John 11:35.  I like it not for what the words are but the meaning behind them.  "Jesus wept"

You are absolutely correct.  Separation of church and state is not addressed in the Constitution.

Congress cannot force any one religion upon the people, that is, have an official religion.  This (separation of church and state) is nowhere to be found in the US nor has it ever been so in the US.  People merely are unlearned in what the Constitution says as well as what the Bible says.  They just want to complain about something they know nothing about and are unwilling to study to find what it does say.  You will never get through to them they are unlearned and ignorant of the truth of the matter.

  24. there are a few. one is what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul.because theres nothing u can gain from the world.ETERNITY WILL BE HERE SOON!
