  1. No, speaking another language makes no difference.  It is a requirement in many colleges for graduation and/or your major.   What is important is your cumulative unweighted GPA, ACT/SAT score and classes you took (college prep courses).  Then your volunteer work, extracurricular activities.  Your college essay is important.  Colleges don't interview students..that's why you have one chance to look perfect on paper.  Apply to several schools, including your second choices so you have a plan.  Good luck! 2. Being fluent in a foreign language is no different from being able to play the violin or soccer. It is all about the number of attributes you have in comparison to your competitor for the college seat. If you speak a foreign    language and score poorly in relation to the college pool, then you will likely not be accepted. If you do get into the mass pool, and this is of course, when the college narrows down the number of applicants to those who meet the score cut off. After this happens, you will need anything that will set you apart from the crowd. In that case a foreign language would be a great help. You can't ask any questions during the interview to see if you will accepted into the college. The fact of the matter is that you  will have to look at the average scores for the score before you apply. The interviewer will send back a comments sheet to college and asking certain questions like the one  about you getting in is definitely a faux pas in most instances. There is no question to be aware of. Know your resume like the back of your hand and be prepared to ask the interviewer questions about the school you wish to attend. Good Luck!

  3. Most colleges do not have interviews with prospective students.
